History of the fisherman’s villa
Baan Moon was originally a very simple wooden fisherman’s house built about 12 years ago by a local thai man: the location right on the Klong Phlu river and at the mouth of the sea provided a perfect spot for catching both soft and seawater species!
The house was then sold to an Englishman, builder of trade who proceeded to entirely renovate it in 2007: extensive work turned it into a sturdy house with a concrete base, feet (stilts) and frame (all on the original pillars) – while skillfully retaining the original look and beautiful wooden interior. A fisherman himself, the owner had two boats moored to the outer deck ready to take him on fishing expeditions at his fancy.(Below the house in 2010 without the 1st floor).
In early 2013, we decided to take this house to the next level and proceeded to extend it by building a first floor and changing the room layout to create more space and light, while keeping the house’s signature “fisherman’s look” intact. It became the stunning fisherman’s villa that you can now see.
