Baan Moon Reviews

It’s mid-May now and the High Season has already drawn to a close for many resorts and businesses on the island.  We’re fortunate that whilst the package tourists may stay away from Koh Chang during the Low Season, there are many independent travellers who love to come here between June – October.   They take advantage of the cheaper airfares, quieter beaches and more easy going atmosphere that prevails when there are fewer people here.  Business owners have time to sit and chat, no one is getting stressed, when it rains you take shelter and meet new friends.

Over the past few years I’ve noticed that July and August are becoming increasingly popular months for travelling.  This despite visitors knowing that it will rain at some point during their holiday. ( It is the rainy season.  But the heaviest rains are usually overnight and there is still sunshine most days.  A few consecutive days of grey skies, rain and rough seas are thankfully very rare. )

If you really want to avoid the crowds then June and September are always the quietest months on the island.  September is particular as that’s when the weather tends to be worst and the summer holidays have ended for European visitors.  It;s when we take our holidays and spend a few weeks in Europe doing some walking and exploring and generally drinking way too much good beer and cheap wine.

This post is just to thank guests who have stayed at Baan Moon since November last year.   We’ve be delighted to host families, couples and groups of friends from around the world.  Different nationalities, different ages but all looking for a a different type of holiday experience on Koh Chang.  And going off the reviews we’ve done OK.

As with our guesthouse – Baan Rim Nam which is consistently rated as one to the Top 25 in Thailand , we never ask for reviews.  I don’t like to do that.  Some people leave reviews, some don’t.  It shouldn’t be mandatory and people shouldn’t feel obliged to do so.  But I’d like to extend a big “Thank You” to everyone who has shared their experiences at Baan Moon with fellow travellers world wide.

If you’re planning a trip to Koh Chang and considering renting a holiday home or villa, then here are some reviews that guests have kindly left.  Take a look and maybe I’ll see you on the island when you stay at Baan Moon Fisherman’s Villa.
